I bought my 72 Torino back in the day from
Stedman for $500, it was flat black, had a vinyl top and no engine.
The first year I put a 460 that was 30 over with forged pistons and set it up
for nitrous, The transmission was a C6 with a 4000 stall converter and 4:11
gear 9 inch rear end. The car ran low 12's.
The next year I narrowed the rear end and tubbed it. I rebuilt the engine with
and lowered the gear to a 5:13. I then had the car painted six months later.
later. It was supposed to be a Fire Engine Red color but I let Vito shoot her
and by some misfortune she turned out orange.
This car and my family saw a
lot of action and fun times with the old GRSR's. Every weekend there was
always something going on. Then the candle went out and the fun was gone. Sold
the car, took up family camping then. Now my son Chad has decided to give the car
stuff a shot and well..........the bug is back!!!
